not on the train
This is one of those entries that is not photo related, but instead about some of those moments (usually not good) you have being another country.
Commuting on the train has its pros and cons, and I can deal most of the cons. But today was a little much for me.
Once a week I’m on the train early to get to work and today was no exception. After I sat down, a few stops later this guy gets on and sits next to me.. ok, fine.
But the next thing I notice is that his leg… his leg is like out of control!! jiggling it, up and down! Obviously most people who do this don’t/can’t really control it as it’s just a habit.
He had his headphones on so I didn’t say anything to him, but I did give him a look like ‘dude, chill out with the leg thing’ …he didn’t see. I honestly did my best to ignore it, have happy thoughts, etc. Nothing worked, the constant little bumpy motion only seemed to stop like he was catching his breath. Then it would continue again.
I couldn’t stand it, it was like that little creaky noise inside the car, or the fan making some noise… it went from being little strange to full on irritating!
I had to get up out of my seat cuz this guys’ leg was so out of control!
But the worst thing is that here in Japan it’s considered a sign of being poor.. of course it’s not true, just a superstition. So here in Japan you don’t see people doing this really much anywhere. (It’s called ‘binbo-yusuri’)
And now I’m writing about it.

You really thought I’d take his picture?
I’m not that crazy.
(small pictures today!)
UPDATE
My ‘bad day’ didn’t stop there.. on the bus (yes, I have to take a bus too.. sucks major.. well, you know)
I had to stand next to this lady who was sitting. She wasn’t exactly the most hygenic.. you might say. Her hair was a total mess, she didn’t care about her clothes etc.. which is fine, you know… but then she had to clear her throat! It was the most disgusting thing I’ve heard in a long time! I couldn’t even look at her because I knew she either wanted to spit it out or swallow it back down. I just stood there with the most disgusted expression as I stared out the window with disbelief!
They come in three’s..
Then when I got to my desk and learned I had to cover for a co-worker that was sick… he’s had his moments where he’s been ‘sick’ …all it does is make a big hassle for the rest of us, mostly because he sure gets ‘sick’ a lot!

hahaha interesting story!
My feeling is – not anywhere near me! The thing that really bugs me is people who chew gum with their mouth open, or continually snap it. When I was in rehab for my broken hip, the nurse’s aide who helped me most of the time would snap her gum. I figured it would drive me nuts, but it didn’t. It even told me when she was around – the first time she was in a little room a couple of doors down from me doing some paperwork. I called and when she came, she asked how I knew she was there. She laughed about it – her secret was out.
You should be the poor schnook (me) who licenses the professional engineers for this state. Most of them are special – you know – entitled and and when the procedure is explained, they all start with this whiney But, you don’t understand…..of course, I don’t have to be in close proximity when they can’t spit but can only swallow either. My grandmother would make the remark that obviously, she was raised in a barn….

Sorry – I’m one of those whose leg moves out of control. I don’t ever notice it until someone (usually my husband) points it out. Oops.
